Dreams. Yes, that's right kids, I've had my first dream, granted that I've managed to remember, and to my knowledge not induced by high levels of narcotics. Someday i'll tell you of my dream flight in an aircraft from Perth Austrailia to Lexington KY to get my spine repaired. No, it didn't really happen, and I was in the ICU at the time, so I suspect it was 'artifically' induced. That's not the theme today though.
On to the dream. It was short, I found myself in the desert, I believe somewhere around the impact range on.... What's that Army base on I15 between Vegas and LosAngeles? Anyway, it was near there. The China LAke range is in that area. So there I was ... In desert camo wandering around, looking for something. I found several 105mm cannon shells, not from an artillery piece, but from a gunship. In fresh craters. There were also quite a few 20mm armor piercing rounds from I'm guessing an F-16, as it carries a 20mm vulcan cannon as a close air support weapon. It doesn't work for much but 'soft skinned' vehicles... Anything more than that and you better call a Hog.
My friend Nick has had three dreams so far, all Post Event, and in all three I was walking and celebrating that fact. So who knows. My internet connection has SUCKED in the last few days... It's quite succeptable to fog, and I suspect wood smoke. It's cold here, and alot of folks heat with a stove, hence the smoke. So..... I hope the cable company gets their act online or something. Wireless sucks. Still better than POTS, but not much. So my two HP Netservers are up at school, getting their little minds wiped. It seems though that there's a problem, the raid array can't find itself or something. I'm not too worried about those machines though, they're only running pentium 100's... Dual setup notwithstanding. I'm thinking I'm going to tear them apart, save the drives for a gigantic RAID array, sell the guts on ebay if I can, and keep at least one case. Perhapse I shall purchase a dual Athalon motherboard and a raid controller card. Water cool the processors, get the raid working (if I can, I dunno how they work, really) and make a bitchin' deskside rocket for my next computer. I dunno though, I'll prolly end up with a (nother) box of parts under the bed waiting for me to get off my ass and do something with them. I have quite a pile of voodoo lily bulbs, some of which are big enough to flower. We'll see what happens this spring. |
