You know on those bug-bombs how it says "don't go in there" for 4 hours after you've set one off?
They mean it.
Last night I set up a couple then counted kid noses and when I was sure they were all in bed I let them off, then came in the bedroom, shut the door and turned on the window fan. I figured the positive pressure would keep the bug fog out. It did, but later I decided I wanted something from the kitchen. Hungry.
So I got up and went in there. I'd been there for about 5 minutes when my throat started feeling scratchy and I started caughing. I figured "I've almost got all my loot, just be another minute" and continued to gather food....
Well, it got worse... WAY worse... My nose started to run and my throat to constrict so I fled for the bedroom... By the time I made it in here I was really having trouble breathing, I'm not sure if I would have made it another 30 to 45 seconds out in the bug-fog. My throat had closed so far that I was having serious trouble getting air, and I was beginning to wonder if I was able to dial the phone how I would talk to tell them where i was. Immediately on entering the clear air it started to get better, but I thought if I didn't continue to feel better in about a minute I was calling the ambulance.

Well, I'm not typing from the hospital, so I must have felt better and didn't call.

Good thing I had the cell with me, as the nearest land-line phone's in the living-room, and that would have meant getting back in the chair and going back into bug spray to get it.
Later I thought about what I would have done if I was able to call but couldn't talk... It would have been obvious to the answering person that I was having trouble breathing, but it's a cell so how would they know where i was? Then I remembered... It's got a GPS chip inside. Now I doubt it's got military resolution, but even in the late 90's civilian (without the Military encryption keys) GPS' could get within 100 meters of something.
But still, who knows. Maybe I could have gotten the adress out, but if the throat constriction had progressed at the rate it had been, i doubt it.
Then again who knows what 911 has on the system to deal with cell phones. If I'd hit 3 towers and they could have triangulated fast enough it would be fairly easy to get the adress.

You might think "being burned alive" would be on the top of the list of "worst ways to die" for me, but then how could I have spent so many years in fire?
For me the worst way to go is not being able to breathe. That's why I wasn't ever very interested in swimming... It's rather hard to breathe under water. So through the night last night I kept waking up thinking I couldn't get breath (again)..... made fora rather fitful and nitemarish night. I didn't sleep much as I was afraid to go to sleep and wake up like that again. Then I would fall asleep... And wake up short of breath..... and fall asleep... Nice huh?

So that brings up the cell bill. Way back when (like last spring) I asked if OWCP would pay the cell access. Not the bill, just the access. $45 a month. They said they would.
Well, I recently asked for something written about that, and they said I couldn't have it. So I submitted 7 months worth of access charges anyway, and guess what? Came back denied. So tomorrow I'm going to get that straightened out.
We'll see what happens.
